These healthy no-bake balls are so tasty and great when you need a little energy boost!
Are you a matcha fan!? To be honest, I don’t particularly like matcha drinks, but I do absolutely love these cute little matcha energy balls!
What is matcha?
Matcha is a finely ground powder of green tea leaves and has a ton of health benefits as well as energy-boosting properties. It has naturally occurring caffeine, but what makes it so special is that it also has L-Theanine, which slows down the release of caffeine in your body and brings you a sense of calm and relaxation. This means no anxious jitters! It also has many other health benefits including cancer prevention, detoxification and boosts metabolism.
In this specific recipe, there is only a small amount of matcha, but you can always add as much as you want! I personally prefer a more mild taste, but if you like it strong then I would double or triple the matcha in this recipe.
After making these balls, I topped them with cacao nibs and I highly recommend it. It was such a tasty addition. You can even just add dark chocolate chips if you’re looking for something a little sweeter.
All you need for this recipe are 6 ingredients and a food processor. You don’t even need an oven! These are no-bake and so easy to make.
Ingredients for Healthy Matcha Energy Balls:
- Medjool dates, pitted
- Matcha powder – This is the one I recommend. Be picky when choosing your matcha as many can contain heavy metals! This brand has been shown to be very clean.
- Shredded coconut
- Coconut oil
- Almond flour
- Vital Proteins Unflavored Collagen Powder – I love this specific collagen powder, but you can use another collagen powder, or even try just normal protein powder.
- Cacao nibs or dark chocolate chips optional for topping
How to Make Healthy Matcha Energy Balls:
So easy. Just mix all of the ingredients in a food processor until blended together.
Form into balls using your hands and top with cacao nibs/dark chocolate if desired, or any other fun toppings!
Just store them in the fridge or freezer when you need a little energy boost!
