This sweet potato sauce is so simple to make, and once you have a sweet potato already baked, all you do is throw everything into a blender! Just bake a sweet potato in advance, keep it in the fridge, and use it when you’re ready to make this sauce.
You can use any kind of sweet potato you want, but I highly recommend you use a Japanese sweet potato! They are so much sweeter and creamier and are just SO DELICIOUS!
Ingredients for Sweet Potato Sauce:
- Sweet potato – skin removed
- Olive oil
- Almond milk or other non-dairy milk
- Water
- Garlic clove
- Nutritional yeast
- Sea salt + black pepper
How to Make Sweet Potato Sauce:
All you have to do is throw all of the ingredients into a blender and blend. Then heat it up on the stove and serve. It’s literally that easy.

- 1 medium baked sweet potato with skin removed (I used Japanese sweet potato because it’s my favorite)
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 3/4 cup almond milk
- 1 cup water
- 1 garlic clove
- 2 tbsp nutritional yeast
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Throw everything into a blender and blend.
- Heat up, serve on top of pasta and enjoy!
