A fun and tasty, simple appetizer that’s so perfect for parties!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 apples – I used honey crisp, but you can use whatever kind you prefer.
  • 1 cup raw macadamia nuts
  • A few good squeezes of lemon – I used the juice of about probably a quarter of a lemon
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 6 oz of prosciutto
  • Honey for drizzling on top

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Wash and chop apples into about 1/2” inch slices or so.
  3. Make the macadamia nut “cheese:” add raw macadamia nuts, lemon juice, sea salt and water into a food processor and blend until a creamy, cheese-like texture.
  4. Take an individual apple slice, add a dollop of the macadamia nut spread, wrap in prosciutto, and stick a toothpick in it. Place on a parchment paper lined baking sheet. *Before you wrap the prosciutto, I recommend ripping each prosciutto slice in half vertically, so it’s about 2 inches wide or so and only covers the center of each apple slice.
  5. Repeat this until all the apples are used.
  6. Drizzle all of the apple slices in honey.
  7. Bake for 20 mins.
  8. Let cool for 10 mins, then serve!

Notes

You can use real cheese if you’d like! It’s possible that the time in the oven may vary so just keep an eye on it so the cheese doesn’t burn.

If you want to keep this recipe super simple and easy, you can omit the macadamia nut spread from the recipe. It’s still tasty but just different, and there’s no creamy texture.
