When I started cooking, I never really knew how to prepare my proteins to make them tasty. Although sometimes I’ll still eat them plain when I want something simple, I love to find EASY ways to make them more interesting. That’s where this easy honey mustard chicken comes in!

This chicken dish is really delicious but it’s still slightly mild so I think pretty much everyone would like this, including kids! The sauce also adds a really great texture.

Ingredients for Easy Honey Mustard Chicken:

  • Chicken thighs – you could also use breasts if you like that better!
  • Honey
  • Dijon mustard – I used Organicville since it has really clean ingredients
  • Avocado oil
  • Salt + pepper
  • Fresh parsley for topping if desired!

How to Make Easy Honey Mustard Chicken:

Don’t worry, it’s simple to make! Start by mixing up all the ingredients (except for the chicken) into a bowl. Then cut the raw chicken into bite-size pieces.

Now add the chicken and the sauce to a large pan on medium and mix around until the sauce is all mixed in. Cook the chicken with the top on, while mixing every so often, until the chicken is fully cooked. It only took me about 10 minutes to cook so it’s pretty quick! If you’re unsure about when your chicken is ready, I encourage you to use a meat thermometer! If you don’t have one, definitely get one! This is the one I have. It’s so cheap for peace of mind knowing your meat is cooked enough. Chicken needs to reach an internal temperate of about 165°F.

Once it’s done, top with fresh parsley if desired, and serve with whatever you like! I served mine with brown jasmine rice, roasted red cabbage, and avocado.

An easy, healthy way to spice up a boring dish.

  • Prep Time: 5 mins
  • Cook Time: 10 mins
  • Total Time: 15 minutes

Ingredients

Scale
  • Chicken thighs (or breasts if preferred) – I cooked 1.37 lb package
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp dijon mustard
  • 2 tbsp avocado oil
  • 1/8 tsp salt
  • Dash of Pepper

Instructions

  1. Mix sauce ingredients (everything besides chicken) together in a bowl.
  2. Cut up chicken into bite size pieces.
  3. Add chicken and sauce to a pan on medium and mix around.
  4. Cook with the top on, mixing occasionally, for about 10 minutes until cooked through.

Notes

This amount of sauce was the perfect amount for cooking 1.37 pounds of chicken. If you have less chicken, you can still add the full sauce if desired, or just add as much as you feel like you’ll need.
