As you probably noticed by the title, these are made with cassava flour. I love using cassava flour and if you haven’t tried baking with it then you must! I really enjoy the taste and consistency. However, I’ve noticed it’s harder to find organic cassava flours at the grocery store. If that’s important to you, this one and this one are ones I’ve found on Amazon.

If you’re looking for another simple chocolate chip cookie recipe, these flourless 4-Ingredient Chocolate Chip Cookies are one of my personal favorites!

Ingredients for Banana Chocolate Chip Cassava Cookies:

  • Ripe bananas – the riper the bananas the better!
  • Eggs
  • Maple syrup
  • Avocado oil
  • Cassava flour
  • Coconut flour
  • Baking soda
  • Chocolate chips

Only 8 ingredients in total! If you want to ensure the recipe is gluten-free/dairy-free/refined sugar-free, make sure you choose the appropriate chocolate chips! The ones I used in this recipe were the Enjoy Life Foods Dark Chocolate Chips which are dairy-free/gluten-free/vegan but do have some cane sugar. These Lily’s Dark Chocolate Chips are refined sugar-free.

How to Make Banana Chocolate Chip Cassava Cookies:

This is a super simple recipe! Start by preheating your oven and laying a piece of parchment paper on a large baking sheet (or grease it using a healthy non-stick oil).

Now add all the wet ingredients to a bowl (including the mashed bananas) and mix together. Then add the dry ingredients and mix again until it’s thoroughly combined.

Using an ice cream scooper, a spoon, or just your hand, take some dough and roll it into a ball. Place the ball on the baking sheet and press down gently using the palm of your hand. Do this until the batter is all used up!

Before I put them in the oven, I also added some more chocolate chips on top and a little bit of sea salt.

The cookies don’t really spread out at all in the oven so you should be able to fit all 12 cookies on one large baking sheet.

Bake in the oven, let cool, then enjoy!
