Most of the almond milk sold at the grocery store (or other nut milk alternatives) are filled with nasty chemicals or sweeteners that aren’t doing our body any favors. But the good news is that making homemade almond milk is SO EASY! It really doesn’t take long at all and it’s cheaper, too.

Ingredients for Homemade Almond Milk:

  • Raw almonds
  • Water
  • Sea salt

That’s all it takes! You can also add other flavorings like a dash of maple syrup or a blended date for sweetness, vanilla extract, cacao, etc., but I choose to keep mine simple.

How to Make Homemade Almond Milk:

Don’t worry, it’s very easy. First, soak your almonds in a bowl of hot water for about 3 hours. You can also soak your almonds in room temperature water overnight.

After soaking, drain the almonds from the bowl of water and add the soaked almonds, water, and sea salt (and any other mix-ins you choose) to a blender. Blend on high for about 2 minutes to ensure it’s all fully mixed together.

Next, strain the liquid into a bowl using a nut milk bag. The purpose of straining is so you can remove the almond pulp, leaving just the liquid. This is a great nut milk bag if you don’t have one!

Then just pour the almond milk into a container to be refrigerated. I use this cute glass bottle to store my homemade nut milks, but you can use any container you have on hand.

That’s it! I hope you give it a try and let me know what you think!
