A healthy and delicious way to get your burger fix!
Let’s be real…I will never ever give up a good burger. It’s my favorite thing in the entire world. But, that doesn’t mean I don’t try to healthify it every now and then! That’s why I love these sweet potato sliders.
I healthified this by substituting a bun with sweet potato slices, omitted the cheese, and used organic, grass-fed, pasture-raised beef.
Ingredients for Sweet Potato Sliders:
- Ground beef – organic, grass-fed, pasture-raised is best
- Sweet potato
- Avocado oil
- Spices: salt and pepper (optional: garlic powder and rosemary)
- Veggies of choice – I use greens, tomatoes, and grilled onions
- Sauce of choice – I use Primal Kitchen Foods Ketchup, a cleaner and healthier ketchup with no added sugars.
How to Make Sweet Potato Sliders:
Start by preheating the oven, washing the sweet potatoes and cutting them into rounds. Coat them with a little bit of avocado oil and salt and pepper. I also like to add garlic and rosemary too, but that’s up to you. Spread them on a baking sheet and bake in the oven, flipping halfway.
When the sweet potato is cooking, cook the ground beef into small buns however you like. I did it by forming the ground beef into patties, sprinkling with salt and pepper, and then cooking them on the stovetop on medium in a little bit of avocado oil (or other healthy oil).
Then when everything is done put everything together with your veggies of choice and a yummy sauce if desired. Enjoy!
